Dr. Tae-Young Pak
Dr. Pak received his Ph.D. in Consumer Economics and a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from the University of Georgia. He joined the University of Alabama in 2016 as an assistant professor in consumer sciences, and has taught courses on consumer economics and consumer quality management. His current research examines how individuals form expectations about uncertain future events such as mortality, pension benefits, and political risk, and how subjective forecast affects saving and consumption decisions among the elderly. In addition, Dr. Pak studies the extent to which social security and social welfare benefits improve the economic well-being and health outcomes of the retirees.
